Privacy policy

The short version. This site has no accounts, no ads, no tracking pixels, no analytics, and it sets no cookies. We only get what you type into a form. We use it to answer you, we don't sell it or share it for advertising, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing trey@tlwbuilds.com.
Who we are
This site belongs to TLW Builds, operated by Trey West, doing business as TLW Builds, in Missouri ("we," "us"). If you have a question about your information, email trey@tlwbuilds.com or write to us at 18258 U.S. Highway 65, Preston, MO 65732.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical information every website receives.

Please don't send sensitive personal data through our forms. The intake form asks what kind of information in your work is sensitive. Describe it in general terms ("client Social Security numbers," "payroll figures"). Please don't paste real Social Security numbers, account numbers, passwords, or health records into any form on this site.
Saved on your own device
The intake form saves your draft answers in your browser's local storage so you don't lose your typing. That draft stays on your device. It isn't sent anywhere until you press "Send my answers," and it's erased from your browser when you do. To delete a draft without sending it, clear this site's data in your browser settings. This is the only thing the site stores on your device, and it is not a cookie.
Emails
If you ask for the checklist, we'll email it to you and follow up with a few short emails about how we build AI systems. Every one of those emails will tell you how to stop them. Replying "unsubscribe" works, and we'll take you off the list right away.
If you use the contact form or the intake form, we'll reply to you personally. That does not add you to any mailing list.
Who helps us handle it
We don't sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for advertising. A few service providers handle it on our behalf, and only to run this site and our email:
- Netlify hosts this site and receives form submissions. It stores them for us and screens them for spam, which can involve an automated spam-filtering service.
- Our email providers deliver form notifications and our replies. Today that's ImprovMX, which forwards mail sent to trey@tlwbuilds.com, and Google (Gmail), which holds the mailbox.
- Telegram delivers an instant alert to Trey's phone when a form comes in. The alert can include what you submitted.
- AI assistant tools. Trey uses AI tools to help run the business, for example to help draft a reply. Today that's Anthropic's Claude. What you submitted may be processed by those tools for that purpose.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the site's fonts and animation code. Your browser contacts them directly when a page loads, so they receive your IP address and browser details, as they would on any site that uses them. We don't receive anything from them.
These providers may process data in the United States or other countries. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and the emails that go with them for 24 months, unless you become a client (then your service agreement controls) or you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email trey@tlwbuilds.com from the address you used. We may ask a question to confirm it's really you, and then we'll take care of it within 30 days. No forms, no runaround.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We don't track you across other sites, and we don't let anyone else do it here, so those browser signals don't change anything on this site.
Security
The site only loads over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to form submissions is limited to Trey and the tools listed above. No method of sending or storing data is perfectly secure, though, which is another reason not to send sensitive personal data through a web form.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.
If you become a client
Client work is covered by your signed service agreement, and where it's stricter than this page, the agreement controls. The AI systems we build for clients send data to a commercial AI model provider to do their work. Your agreement names the provider in use, and we pick providers whose business terms don't use your data to train their models.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll say so at the top of the page, and if we have your email for an ongoing conversation, we'll tell you directly.
