Accessibility statement
Effective September 10, 2026 · last reviewed September 2026
The short version. We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever device, browser, or assistive technology they use. If anything here gets in your way, email trey@tlwbuilds.com. Trey will get you the information another way and fix the problem.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across tlwbuilds.com. That standard is the one most often used to judge whether a website is accessible to people with disabilities. We treat it as the minimum, not the finish line.
What we've checked
In September 2026 we tested every page with two automated checkers (axe-core and pa11y) and reviewed these by hand:
- Color contrast. Text colors were adjusted so text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratios on light and dark backgrounds.
- Keyboard use. Every link, button, and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. A "Skip to main content" link appears first when you press Tab.
- Forms. Every field has a visible label. Required fields are marked for assistive technology, and your browser tells you if something is missing before anything is sent.
- Motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the animations, the typing console, and the looping videos stay still. Everyone else gets a "pause motion" button next to the moving content, and blinking cursors stop on their own after a few seconds.
- Structure. Pages declare their language, use headings in order, and mark out the header, main content, and footer so screen readers can move between them.
- Images and animations. Diagrams and videos have text descriptions. The videos are silent animations, so they don't need captions.
Known limitations
- The scroll-driven diagram. On the home page and the accounting-firm page, a diagram animates as you scroll. It has a text description, and with reduced motion turned on it shows its finished state. The animation itself is visual only.
- The interactive demo at tlwbuilds.com/demo is a complex, app-style page. It has had automated checks and basic fixes, but it hasn't been fully tested with screen readers yet.
- The checklist PDF is a tagged PDF with a title and language set, but it hasn't been tested with a screen reader. If it doesn't work for you, ask and we'll send the same content as plain text.
- On small screens the top menu shows only the main button. Every section is still reachable by scrolling, and the footer links cover every page.
Ask for an accommodation
If you can't use part of this site, or you'd rather do something another way, email trey@tlwbuilds.com. For example, we can:
- take your intake answers by email or in a conversation instead of the web form;
- send the checklist, or anything else on the site, as plain text;
- explain anything the animations or demo show.
Please tell us which page and what got in the way. Trey reads every message himself.
Keeping it accessible
We re-check the site when pages change. If you find something we missed, you'll be doing us a favor by telling us.
